The Resident Evil series was probably the most successful line of stories about mutations. And that's an area that could be milked for a long time in numerous ways if they can think of them. Zombies were getting stagnant till Resident Evil came along and showed us that there's something cooler. Like humans turning into beasts. Humans without skin and exposed brains. Humans with massive muscle and horridly stretched skin. And in the video games the mutations are even worse. It's a great idea and so original. I still give it credit to this day for breaking ground. I love the idea of mutations and I love monster movies, so you put the two together and you could create any monster you can think of. It's opening up a large door that doesn't just have to have zombies walking through it. You could create any mutation story and be onto something. It pushes the limits and actually opens our eyes to how perverted science can get if ever taken that far. Since there are scientists already making human/animal hybrids you never know what's possible. Messing with genes and DNA, that's the new cool. The new Frankenstein was "Nemesis". These perversions of science could eerily be real, despite how insane they are. That's the new entertainment, you think they could never be real but you just don't know how scary those college professors really are messing with our fruit in our supermarkets! What's next? A six legged chicken? Sounds like a spider chicken. Now that's freaky.
