Versus Science #35. How much truth is there to time travel really? I think time travel is really hard to believe for me again when I think about it. I've been believing that it could work for a while now because of proof I've read about in science magazines but my own ideas on the subject make me think it's not possible once again. Even if we could travel through time how would we stop a change from affecting the future of anything? When it comes to time travel even changing something for the better could make something bad happen. It's unpredictable. And what about time paradoxes or disrupting space time? It may be possible but is it possible without repurcusions? I doubt it. The only way you could do that would be if you went into a past parallel universe where you could change things without changing the main universe. That way if something changed it would only change in that one reality. On the other hand if you can go back in time you can erase a mistake and try again and even predict the outcome of that choice, or go into the future of that choice. But what about the rest of the world? If one tiny thing changes something you don't notice and you think it'll turn out o.k. by looking into the future then what could happen? What if you affect one person's life somehow, like someone sees you when they weren't supposed to see you standing there, and it has an affect on that person's life, if not a horrible universal outcome? You would think the future is unaffected but one person's life could drastically change. Time travel would defeat the purpose of evolution and progress. It could never really be a commercial use idea anyways. But others think it's easier than that. Like warping in space may create time travel. If it was solved would we ever hear about it? I doubt that one! But we all know that people in colleges are creating atom smashers and colliders to solve the mystery. So where is it all leading? If it was made known soon enough people would use it for bad. But if it only affects a parallel universe then they wouldn't be ruining this reality. So in that theory people could create a world of their own. But if they can find a parallel universe they can also find a way back supposedly. It's just like the black market, soon enough people would start to use it for bad. And if that happened life would be like "The One" where we have time police watching alternate realities. It's a very scary thought but I could see it happening, if only for the fact that people are trying to solve this in colleges.
