The Webcam Revolution

When o' when will we get fully integrated into the internet I wonder? Someday every home will have internet and a computer that comes with the house. It'll be mandatory someday. And everyone in the world will be able to see their friends over mandatory webcams using video phones. But assimilation sure seems to take a long time sometimes. I wish it could happen sooner so I could see some cool stuff evolve before I get old. And you know what happens when the next generation comes around? They'll be laughing at us. It's a constant cycle. But unlike a lot of people that just get older and lose touch with technology or society I plan on keeping up with it. Some day we'll have computers running everything in the house and calling the kids for dinner will simple be as easy as your face showing up on a screen in your kids' rooms and saying to them "Time for dinner" without having to leave the kitchen. And you could even see your kids response. It's a lot like that idea of those walkie talkie things that you can leave in your baby's room to monitor her by listening to her but taken a lot further. And this of course will lead to hologram watches where a kid can get a hologram of her mom saying "It's time to come home". I won't live forever and I sure wish assimilation would work a little faster. As is, there isn't a computer in every single household but there really should be. And it should be a lot easier to learn how to use computers for people that don't know, like older people. If it takes a computer engineer to learn how to use one then it's no wonder people everywhere have headaches. But things are happening slowly. First came the wireless mouse. Then the wireless keyboard. What's next? The wireless tower? A fully wireless computer is a great idea. Someone should give me credit for that one! I know someday we'll have that same technology running Comcast in our computers, fiber optics. Fiber optics allow much faster computers by transferring information through light sent through wires. It's much faster than computers today. But nobody has heard anything yet on that one. I'm appalled still that we don't have computers that talk or dial numbers using voice commands yet like in "Brainscan", that 80's movie. So how did that kid do that? The webcam revolution is starting. Eventually I'm sure many will use webcams and computers like phones. And you know that every dating agency is cashing in on the whole webcam chat thing. It's about damn time we can see who we're thinking we're attracted to. Or talking to the person. I wonder how soon it'll be till there are more mainstream online communities where you could meet people even for simple friendships like Myspace, but on a webcam. Will myspace ever go to the webcame area? They should. That's how it'll be everywhere in the future.
