Versus Book #53. As an independent author I look for other independent authors too. They tend to have really original imaginations. Like this story here: "Anoxic Zone" by John G. Rees. I used to be into only mainstream books but I've learned of the awesome originality of the not so famous authors. This book here is right up my alley and it's well made. He did a good job on this book. Though they never use the word vampire in the book, or not often if at all, that is basically what the story is about. Two vampires. They're bred by a corporation to deep sea dive in search of relics. You gotta admit it captures your attention so far doesn't it? Then they escape and look for their true origins once they learn what they are, a trip that takes them all across the globe and even to Romania where the legends started. They meet their maker and side with him. Apparently this maker has plans of his own though and they turn on him. For once I can honestly say I'm truly impressed with an independent author and I think anyone would like reading this book. It's almost 300 pages so it's not overwhelming. This, to me, is a preferred length of book to read since I like the fast-paced reads that make you want to read them again someday. In case you didn't know the anoxic zone is the depth in the ocean where oxygen is no longer present. At such depths preservation of shipwrecks is made possible. And vampires have no problem diving to these depths that mere mortals would die at. Check it out!
