I love it when new magazines come out with cool new polished design. Some are hybrid magazines while others have a main focus. This one, "Scars", has a main theme of horror movies but also entails music and interviews, or anything horror related. It's not just Fangoria anymore apparently. They have competition now. I do think Fangoria is an awesome magazine but as more and more movies get made can only one magazine cover them all? Maybe not. So one magazine will showcase others while another has its own. This one does seem just as hardcore as Fangoria, if not more so. Some of the covers are really grisly. I imagine it doesn't really matter what they put on the cover as long as they wrap the cover in a plastic to hide the gore from kids maybe. Or not, I dunno. That's what I'd do. I do like the layout of the magazine so far and that's saying a lot to be a Fangoria competitor. There might be more mags out there but I only cover what I stumble upon on my random internet adventures. I'd say this magazine has a slightly darker feel to it, if that's possible. Anyhow it's exciting to me, like when I saw a cool new mag come out for hardcore metal. Come to the dark side and show the world your scars freely!
