Speaking of time travel, here we got "Terra Nova". a cool new show. The season finale just came about so we're gonna have to cross our fingers that they don't leave us with a huge cliffhanger where we have no idea what the ending of the finale meant. The ending was really good too. It's so good that it really makes you hope they won't cut it off. But when it's that good of a cliffhanger maybe they didn't have anything planned. Sometimes that happens with these shows lately, like with "Fastforward". The ending to Fastforward was ended abruptly and it sure left you with some questions. I'd hate to see that happen to this show. The show about a future where resources are almost all used up and cities are housed in big bubbles on a ravaged Earth landscape is a bleak vision of what life could be like if we kept using up all our resources too fast. So what do they do? They create time travel by using a portal and send a colony back to start anew. The problem is that the decaying future doesn't want to die so the one in charge had plans to rob the rich soil of the past of its vast minerals and metals. Even if you could rob the past wouldn't that affect the future? I'm not really sure in this show since they brought up the idea of an alternate reality. If it were an alternate reality then is it really our past? That might explain the end of the finale possibly. It's so far out that you have to really try hard to figure it out. Apparently there was a ship figurehead found in the badlands of this prehistoric world. And the soldiers that came back to destroy the colony fled there once defeated almost immediately, without food or water. It's as if something was waiting for them there. How weird is that? That would be the most insane cliffhanger ever if they don't renew that show. They better! I'm tired of all this cancelling. The finale was great. I loved the dinosaur coming back the future and eating everyone, the guy running to the portal with a dinosaur chasing him, and the destruction of the portal. It was perfect but can it live up to that episode? Sometimes these sort of endings are done to end them abruptly without any explanation. I would hate that. I agree some endings can be bad but even worse if the writers don't know where to take it after trying a really radical plot path. A show like "V" had a sort of bad ending when the alien mother killed the cop woman's boy and father, and her own mother. This may have been a bit too extreme and either done to end the series quickly, like Fastforward, or because they chose the bad ending route. So either it was ended on purpose with a radical idea or it was cancelled for being a bad idea. I really don't know what to say about that since I've seen other shows do this approach as well but I really don't want to see this bizarre ending to Terra Nova be one of those. Is it too bizarre to come up with a follow-up story? Will we be left guessing what it all meant? They better continue this one.
