Versus Movie #108. You know what movie by Lance Henriksen I'm thinking of right now? The master is back in my new review of "The Mangler 2". This movie was originally a Stephen King story starring Robert Englund; can't get much better than that. This one has the Lance! It's not like cyberpunk horror movies are ever gonna be huge given the credit they deserve so I won't say anything negative about this movie. I love the angle it takes with someone downloading a top secret virus thinking it's something else and accidentally sending it into the school computer system to take on a life of its own. Far fetched as it may be it is a very scary possibility. The shady corporation that made it makes you think of horror movies in the past, like one I saw where they grew brains and drugged them to have nightmares. This one is nothing like that though. It's got the right idea with cyberpunk horror in mind and for that I give it much credit. It's a good movie in my opinion and if it had a gigantic budget then it would be recognized even more. I think it's a great idea if you think about it. In the first one there was a machine that killed people. In this one a computer virus turns any machine or computer into a killer. It's the perfect modern progression of this idea for updated times. It's not as out there as "The Lawnmower Man" but it does pull off a realistic idea. If someone made an artificially intelligent virus then this is what could happen. That should be a warning for people that deal with those things. Watch Lance merge with machine! This is the future of horror 'cause cyberpunks say so. It was inspirational.
