Keeping up with the theme of big bugs I came across this movie "The Millennium Bug". It's boasting having no CGI and in this case that's a good thing because it looks great. I agree with a lot of reviews that say CGI can look good but not as good as the man made beasts of yesteryear. In some cases it does look good, like in "Reign Of Fire" with their dragons, but it carries a different feel when it's physical in origin. I love how good the EFX look for a monster movie of this magnitude. It's hard to make a good looking big monster bug and not come off like a cheesy movie so this is an achievement. I predict this will become a legendary movie in cult circles. Some non CGI movies look not so good while others look realistic. CGI is good, if you're making "Jurassic Park", but not so good for other ideas. I'm so intrigued by that idea and oddly it's considered the way movies used to be, as if those monster models didn't do the trick. Real models of monsters tend to work better for me. The DVD for this movie isn't out yet so consider this a heads up so you know when it is released. I'm so excited I can't believe it! I believe most small bugs would grow teeth if big enough.
