Part of several musical circles is the spiked denim vest. You can find it worn by metal fans, punk fans, bikers, goths, black metal fans, movie fans, and fashion punks. I'm partial to those worn by crust metal bands like this one here, "Children Of Technology", but this isn't a music review. Good band though. Crusty punks have a way of making the coolest spiked denim vests with patches and spikes. If you look at bikers it may have started there and ported over to fashion culture. The adding of patches is indicative of a body of work, not just a love of music, movies, etc. It takes time to add the art, pictures, spikes, patterns, patches, and you could think of it like getting tattoos where you add with new experiences. Each piece symbolizing a new event in your path. You don't just put it all on at once, even though some do. It's more like a vest of a warrior with medals adorning it, which are the patches and the spikes are like chain mail. It's ironic since most punk is anti-war deep down and they take the fashion of a warrior into their style. Now we display our pride in our likes, dislikes, or try to shock people. Spikes make everything look better. I like the ones with plaid or leopard print added to them. Sometimes people don't design the best ones if they get too cluttered but most look alright. You may now look at denim vests much differently from now on. In the far future the punks and metal heads will still have denim vests. It takes time to earn your medals. Work on it. Don't rush it. Take pride in it.
