As we gear up for the undertaking of commercial space travel with companies like "Space X" one can only wonder about possible space travel problems. I thought about this for a bit and there are some conundrums to be had. We all like the idea of deep space travel but how would we get so far out there without running out of food or supplies or fuel? Sometimes movies or cartoons don't tell us everything because we're still figuring it all out. In animation you'll find space flight, like in this show "Star Blazers". An awesome show by the way. A battleship that could travel at the speed of light. I have a hard time grasping humans traveling at the speed of light but something tells me space would make it possible somehow. Something about dark matter and matter displacement. So what are the problems? Well, in shows like "Star Trek" there was a machine that synthesized food out of nowhere, as if a hologram. That would take care of the food shortage idea but where does the food come from? And another problem I always notice is how people are affected by hypersleep. Color me paranoid but it looks frightening when you see how differently people come out of it, always in disturbing ways. Like in "Pandorum" where people could go mad or forget how long they've been asleep. And I don't like the thought of being asleep for a year or four years when life is short enough. Would you want to spend four years sleeping? The weaponry on the battleship in Star Blazers was all high powered lazers with one huge one in the front. Is this the future of aerial battles? There are many quandaries that would one could find themselves in. If we could create sustainable fuel, food and withstand hyper sleep then people could live in space indefinitely. Is this the future of humanity? Life in the big black. Traveling in space wouldn't be much different than life on a submarine I'd say. Space travelers will think of space as the new ocean. Earth will be a pit stop.
