Nano-Zombies Coming Soon

In movies and games there is a new theme of nano-bacteria causing afflictions. That doesn't mean what you think it means though. When I say "nano" I mean robotic on a microscopic level. In movies and games there is a new theme of nano-bacteria causing afflictions. That doesn't mean what you think it means though. When I say "nano" I mean robotic on a microscopic level. People use the word now to say invisible to the eye but it has another meaning. The robotic buggers that will be cleaning our veins someday no doubt are the ones that could cause such a nano-virus. There's another new word, nano-virus. What is that anyways? We may not know but we will I'm sure. You can bet there are things to be afraid of in the future that we couldn't even begin to explain now. A good example would be in "Johnny Mnemonic" where they have a virus spread through electronics, by touching them. What does that even mean? It sounds like a nano-virus injected into inanimate objects. How frightening that would be. Or what about the nano-storm in "Deus Ex: Invisible War" for the Xbox? A nano-storm causing illness would be something airborne. The bugs we use for oil spills now are bacteria but in the future they could be nano-bots, or nanites. In "Nanobreaker" for the PS2 we have nanites helping people become healthier via their bloodstream turn them into robotic beasts. All this sci-fi, if you will, serves as a prediction of the worst that could come about. There is good in that science but it could also turn us into nano-zombies if we're not careful. I'm waiting for a movie with nano-zombies now. It's actually kind of a surprise that there isn't one out yet.
