Can You Hack It?

Hacking has always been a big part of cyberpunk movies since it's one of the main ways punks could fight the system in a cybernetic future. Anarchy is the idea though. Hacking has always been a big part of cyberpunk movies since it's one of the main ways punks could fight the system in a cybernetic future. Anarchy is the idea though. If things got too bad so-called anarchy would be unavoidable. It isn't really anarchy though if it involves saving ourselves from a highly oppressive and even dangerous future, whatever that may be. The thing with cyberpunk movies is we imagine the worst since it most likely will go that way. On the other hand life tends to be so drama free, unlike the movies, so what's the call? I would say cyberpunk wars are fought unknown to the rest of the world so if those type of movies did come true in some way most regular people would never know of the silent wars raging beneath the guise of society. It's glamorized in movies but those that see the glory would be those we never see. The invisible warriors that know what's really going on with all the secrecy of technological evolution and assimilation. Virtual reality will no doubt get as big as it is in movies someday but for now cyberpunks fight off the bad cyberpunks. Actually bad cyberpunks aren't even cyberpunks. They're criminals and they give the real punks a bad name. A real cyberpunk would be someone like me, except I'm not a hacker and I don't work for any revolutionaries. Honestly, you have to be really computer savvy to even be a hacker and most of us aren't that well versed in it. VR will make hacking a 3D puzzle or maze or all out action that could kill you someday. You always see in movies how they hire hackers to work for the government. Does that really happen? Yes it does! I've never been propositioned by the government but tend to think my ideas are beyond most people's heads. In the end what makes most of us cyberpunk is being a sort of outcast with odd hours and big dreams, searching for meaning on the internet, hoarding some unique knowledge, and working on a way to make living aside from a job. A job is fine but there's nothing wrong with ambition. It's natural. Cyberpunks are dreamers.
