Ghosthunter Worlds

Versus Game #71. Going back to the PS2 today. One game I really liked back then was "Ghosthunter". The only time you see it spelled as one word is when it's done for flashy marketing. Otherwise it's a misspelling, haha. Nobody cares though. This game is hard to describe. It's a good adventure style game world with searching involved, as well as action without being too nerdy. It's a cool game in fact. Not that I don't like nerdy games but I'm just sayin'. It's fun. Games are usually just one or the other these days and these older ones had a mix of styles that appealed to many. This game really does keep changing the further you get too. It starts out with you wandering in different worlds hunting ghosts much like something out of "Ghostbusters" but later on it changes to a kind of action game with cool ghost guns and futuristic weapons. Strange? Well yeah it is but it's one of the coolest games around. And the music really heightens the experience as you try to find your way around. There's a huge variety of levels too. It's wild how many different worlds you traverse on your adventure. I, personally, love the swamp world with the dilapidated, warped houses leaning to one side. And the worlds keep getting bigger and bigger, as they should in any game. I miss games with lots of levels. The later levels get more and more futuristic believe it or not. It sounds odd but it works well. You end up finding yourself almost dead and your body salvaged in the form of a cyborg that resembles Robocop 2 from "Robocop 2" of course. The miniguns are especially awesome and the movement is very realistic. I would say if you're a real gamer and not just in it for the graphics then go and find this one around somewhere online. It's a collector's item.
