I know this movie "Slither" got mixed reviews but I thought it was the bomb! It was like a zombie movie, but a whole lot more than that. A creature feature in fact. The zombies weren't just zombies; they were controlled by something else. This is one of the coolest creature horror movies around if you ask me. It all works out classically too as a comet crashes on Earth in flames. The meteorite left behind cracks open and that's when someone becomes curious enough to go and inspect it, only to be infected by this alien monster. What happens next is really the stuff that monster movies are made of. Zombies, weird mutations, and even sickening mutations. It's sort of a gross-out movie but not really. The kind of zombie movie that I like when I'm not watching those action ones. We all know which ones I'm talkin' about too, the super well produced ones based on video games. This movie is the best of the other kind. And depending on the competition in the theater at that time it could have done better. The main character that gets turned into a slithering beast is more like a mutant slug man than anything. The whip action on his arm is deadly as hell too. That really makes you think about a slug a bit differently in a way. The infection spread through these alien slugs in fact and they were fast little buggers, not like those slow ones we know. This movie had great rewatch value for the alien horror and body horror shocks.
