Vanishing With The Shadows

CAPTURED by DEATHZ HEAD A.K.A. THE CHILLER on Sunday, February 3, 2013 at 11:24 AM

This movie "Vanishing On 7th Street" is quite different than many out there in regards to minimalism and yet maintains decent EFX. The use of suspense works well here since you really don't know what's going on most of the time. The story is there are these shadows that start to ever so slowly take over the city and as they cover the area electronics stop working. And people start disappearing. Nobody really figures it out until later so we're left to be just as scared as they are because we're going up against the unknown too. They later theorize that it could be some sort of physics anomaly where a frightening new world physics allows shadows to be alive and kill people. They theorize that maybe something went wrong with the physics of the world. If the world and the universe was a machine then this would be an accident. Now that's really scary! Then again, their first theory was possible too; maybe it was an anomaly after all. A freak thing that would never usually just happen. I suppose it is within the real of reality that something could go wrong or that physics could just change. What a frightening concept that is really. The shadows in this movie are well done and work well with the story. The struggle to keep lights on was tough and you could feel the impending doom closing in on them. How could anyone survive something like this? These types of films are popping up all over now with different variations on the theme and I like them all.

Guest Commentator THE PRINCE OF DARKNESS says: "Your mind could never wrap itself around the horror here. Humans are doomed!"
